We are a General Pediatric Practice in Cumberland, Rhode Island with Five Doctors and One Nurse Practitioner. We offer routine check-ups, vaccinations, and sick care for patients from newborns through college age. We are affiliated with Hasbro Children's Hospital and Women & Infant's Hospital in Providence. Our doctors are available to answer your questions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year!

Our Hours 
The office is open for routine appointments Monday through Friday.
The first scheduled appointment is at 9:45 AM, the last is 4:45 PM. We do not close for lunch.
Same day appointments for sick visits are always avaialble. Please call in advance to schedule an appointment.



* The office is also open every weekend and holiday - but only for urgent sick visits.
On weekends or holidays, please call in the morning to set up an apointment if your child is sick. The doctor generally arrives at the office by 10 and leaves around 1, although it varies with the season - winter is busier and the doctor stays later, summer is slower.

You can also speak to a doctor directly at any time by calling 333-5201.

Dr. Monti

Dr.Monti founded this practice over 20 years ago. He has been a fixture of medicine in Rhode Island for several decades and has taken care of generations of families in Cumberland. He is a graduate of Georgetown Medical School and Providence College.

Dr. O'Shea

Dr. O'Shea has been practicing with PRIMA pediatrics for 10 years. She is a graduate of Brown University School of Medicine and the residency program at Hasbro Children's Hospital.

Dr. Starakiewicz

Dr. Starakiewicz has been with PRIMA pediatrics for five years. She is a graduate of Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. She originally did her residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in Neonatology there. She completed her pediatric residency here at the University of Connecticut. She speaks both English and Polish.

Dr. Benun joined PRIMA Pediatrics in February of 2011. He is a graduate of the Universidad Central de Venezuela and he did his Pediatric Residency Specialty at Boston City Hospital/Boston University. He moved to Rhode Island in 1998 and worked at Hasbro Children's Hospital for the past 10 years before joining us in 2011. He speaks English and Spanish.

Yolande Patenaude-Lockett, RNP, PhD.

Yolande is a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has been with PRIMA pediatrics for 11 years. She has an M.S.N. from Indiana University, a PhD. from University of Connecticut, and is an Associate Professor of Nursing at RIC.

We accept essentially all major insurances from Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
